Going to be uploading some more examples of sequential work that I've done in the last year. This one is the most recently completed one that I've got the go-ahead to post.
Yep, know what some of you are thinking. `vest, you magnanimous bastard, what's the deal-ee-oh with that obnoxious lensflare in that middle panel there!?
Busted.
It's true, I've said on many occasions that lensflare hardly has any place in, well, anything. But in that one panel, I really wanted to bring the viewer's attention to the sky, and convey a sense of energy and depth. While normal circumstances would mandate a darkened foreground with a hazy environment would suffice just nice enough, I found that I had the benefit of the "visual trope" on my side. I had seen the "object hit into distance, cue lensflare" trope done so many times, I felt that it would be fitting to add it. Since it's so widely used, it's a safe assumption that most viewers would make the connection to the visual trope.
