its not like we are out there going "hell that explosion was awesome and its so cool that all those people lost homes and basically every person in the town knew someone who was killed!". When we saw footage of the tsunami...awesome and epic footage? yes. footage of the bombs in japan? epic. the EVENT is spectacular the outcome is for each person to decide on.

The Holocaust has been described as awesome in documentaries, in regards to it being an awesome display of destruction, or and awesome example of human ignorance. Just making the point that awesome has several meanings, call the video awesome is accurate. People tend to consider awesome a positive adjective, though, so the most you can say is that it is politically inaccurate, but honestly, "politically inaccurate" to me is a synonym for "people are too damn sensitive".

It's not exactly a poor way to describe it. It is something that would invoke awe in an onlooker.

It's the age old thing of when it's appropriate. When you can start making jokes about it compared to when people will get angry for saying something like that. The rocket fuel factory going up in Nevada? You can call that awesome now. St. Helens videos? Those are a go. You tripped over, 'to early' you silly silly boy.

If you think the explosion itself is awesome...no...if you think of all the deaths, sufferings and stuff is awesome, yes...
