Description

Whether it be an airport, a street, or a powerline, everything in society seems to run on the principle of moving from point A to point B in the least amount of time necessary.

Another from the recent "cleaning out the hard drive" series. I remember at one point really looking forward to uploading this image as well as a few others I took at an LAX shoot. I parked my car beside an Office Depot on Sepulveda, just underneath the landing trajectory of airplanes. I got a couple pretty cool "underside" shots as the planes came in for a landing, but the way the street of Sepulveda is set up, I just couldn't get a good shot that would catch the plane touching down with a sunset underneath it.

Darn fence.

I thought I was being so smart, going to the top floor of a parking garage that overlooked the LAX tarmac. I was greeted with a sign "photography of airport from this very spot is a felony." Awesome. I look around after focussing the shot, check to the left, check to the right, ain't nobody looking. That was how I got this beauty. I then look straight up. The distinct black sphere showed my reflection looking back down upon me, in suprised shock. I smiled, waved at the security camera, and after some quick thinking, I then point at the sign. "Oooooh! Ha ha!" Looking back at the camera. "I did NOT see that, hah hah hah! Hah..."

P-woom. I sprint downstairs, straight to my car, and waste no moments looking back. Fortunately I wasn't wearing my usual ceremonial photography turban and white cloak, or there may have been some real trouble.

I don't like this shot. I think it's the bit of sun peeking out from behind the transformer that blows it for me. I think I would really like it but for that. I love the story though if that makes ya feel any better.
